2026 Affinity Groups
Executive Directors/Leadership
OngoingLeadership is always hard, and especially as a formal organizational leader during these times. This group is meant to be a peer-to-peer exchange among organizational leaders seeking solace, support, and creative ideas for working in executive leadership.
LGBTQ+
OngoingThis group is a space for LGBTQ+ nonprofit professionals to find community, share experiences, and support one another across the sector. We recognize that LGBTQ+ identities intersect with race, class, and other dimensions of identity — and that building an equitable sector requires making room for the full complexity of who we are.
Facilitated by Simone John, a queer Senior Associate at IISC with experience holding space for LGBTQ+ professionals in the sector.
Civil Society/Civil Engagement
OngoingEvery crisis asks that we stand back and look at what the bigger story might be telling us. The current challenges in our sector might be seen as a call to remember that the core work of many organizations called “nonprofit” is about ensuring that the social contract and civic fabric of our communities and country are strong and serving all. How can we be effective engagers and weavers of community while supporting everyone in finding their place and role in recreating our democracy? Come join us to talk about ways that we can support one another to create a stronger sense of “us.”
Facilitated by Curtis Ogden, a Senior Associate with the Interaction Institute for Social Change who is based in Amherst, MA and is a thought leader around network building, community engagement and civic weaving.
